Hi my name is Peanut

and I am Sissy

Who am I

My name is Scott, and I’m a Texas-born IT guy with 30+ years of keeping systems running, solving problems, and helping people find their way through technical messes. These days, I’m also a man walking his own road of recovery — learning, healing, and rebuilding life with faith, gratitude, and a whole lot of country simplicity.
Backroads to Recovery is my home base. It’s where I share the real stuff: my journey through prostate cancer, the lessons that came out of it, the quiet moments with Peanut and Sissy, and the encouragement I wish more men heard before life forces them to slow down.
I’m not here to preach or pretend I’ve got it all figured out. I’m here to be honest. To offer hope. To remind folks — especially men — that taking care of yourself isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom. And that even the roughest roads can lead somewhere good.
If you’re walking your own backroad right now, I’m glad you’re here. You don’t have to walk it alone.

But there are also plenty of cases where improvement doesn’t show up until 12 to 18 months later. Knowing that ahead of time would have helped me brace for the road ahead..
